Last updated: May 21, 2026

1. Who we are

Western Magnetics Company ("Westmag," "we," "us," or "our") is a Delaware corporation based in South San Francisco, California. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

2. Information we collect

We collect information in three ways:

  • Information you provide. When you submit our contact form or apply for a role, you provide your name, email address, phone number, city/state, LinkedIn or portfolio URL, cover letter, and a resume file. Apply submissions are routed to our applicant tracking system, Workable, for processing.
  • Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site we collect basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, and pages viewed. This is used for analytics and security monitoring.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. The Site uses a small number of first-party cookies and Vercel-provided analytics signals to understand traffic. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

3. How we use your information

  • To respond to inquiries and questions you send us.
  • To evaluate your application, communicate with you about it, and maintain our hiring records.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Site and its performance.
  • To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud or abuse.
  • To comply with applicable laws and lawful requests.

4. Sharing your information

We share personal information only with:

  • Service providers that help us operate the Site or our hiring process, including Workable (applicant tracking), Vercel (hosting + analytics), and email providers. These providers may only use the information to perform services for us.
  • Legal authorities when required by law, subpoena, or to protect Westmag's legal rights, safety, or property.
  • Successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to the same protections described in this policy.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Data retention

We retain information you submit for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Applicant data is retained for the duration of recruiting plus a reasonable period afterward consistent with applicable employment-law guidance.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect, including TLS encryption in transit and access controls on stored data. No system is perfectly secure; you submit information at your own risk.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@westmag.com. We will respond consistent with applicable law (including the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar U.S. state laws). We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International users

The Site is operated from the United States. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., you understand that information you provide may be processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection rules than your home country.
