About the role

As a Mechatronics Engineer at Westmag, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and integrating electromechanical systems for drone motors and robotic actuators. You will collaborate closely with design, test, and manufacturing teams to optimize product performance and ensure system reliability. This position requires a blend of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering skills to innovate and improve Westmag's cutting-edge motor and actuator technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechatronic components and systems for drone motors and robot actuators.
  • Integrate electrical, mechanical, and software subsystems to deliver tightly integrated actuator products.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, test, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless product introduction.
  • Develop test plans, design and build test equipment, improve designs based on test results.
  • Design, build and test manufacturing automation equipment, such as pick-and-place, load-and-unload, and automated in-line test equipment.
  • Document technical specifications, design decisions, and test results.
  • Analyze emerging technologies and conduct R&D projects when applicable.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience building mechatronic systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electromechanical systems, including motors, actuators, sensors, electronics, and microcontrollers.
  • Experience with embedded software development and hardware integration.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and circuit design tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in drone or robotics industries.
  • Familiarity with motor control electronics and firmware.
  • Knowledge of system-level testing and validation for electromechanical devices.
  • Experience with automation and control systems.

Compensation

Total compensation is base salary plus equity. Specifics for your situation are discussed during the interview process.
