About the role

As an NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineer at Westmag, you will be a key contributor in the development and successful launch of new drone motor and actuator products. You will collaborate closely with design engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure smooth transfer of new products from design to mass production. Your efforts will help guarantee product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and timely delivery.

What you'll own

  • Manage and coordinate new product introduction projects, ensuring alignment between design, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Develop and maintain production processes and documentation for new products.
  • Identify and resolve manufacturing issues during product ramp-up.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to enable successful component sourcing and qualification.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to improve production yield and efficiency.
  • Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product issues during launch.
  • Communicate project status and risks effectively to cross-functional teams and management.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in New Product Introduction, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering in the electronics or motor manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and product lifecycle management.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with ability to analyze data and drive corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to manufacturing sites (up to 20%).
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working with brushless DC motors, drone components, or robotics products.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing automation and test equipment.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.

Compensation

Total compensation is base salary plus equity. Specifics for your situation are discussed during the interview process.
